New Jersey hurrying metallic element ring Attacker was formed in 1983 (ab initio as "Warloc") and presently establish themselves component of a brawny local view likewise creditworthy for spawning proficient thrashers Hades. After seeing their offset demo snapped up for inclusion on Metal Blade's Metallic element Massacre, Vol. 5, Attacker's Bob Mitchell (vocals), Pat Marinelli (guitar), Jim Mooney (guitar), Lou Ciarlo (freshwater bass), and Mike Sabatini recorded their debut album, 1985's J.R.R. Tolkien-themed Fight at Helms Deep. Although it didn't just light up the pop charts, Battle at Helms Deep met with positive reviews and has since become a minor religious cult record album among committed metal fans; merely this wasn't sufficiency for the members of Attacker, world Health Organization, rather presumptuously, refused to entertain Metal Blade's extend to track record a review, choosing or else to bide their time in hopes that a major judge trade would come out. This proved the group's undoing in the end, as, by the time their 1988 sophomore attempt, The Second Coming, finally sawing machine passage through no-hope Mercenary Records, a beneficial deal impulse had been lost and the stripes was virtually unrecognisable subsequently major personnel department changes (holdovers Marinelli and Sabatini were directly united by vocalizer John Leone, guitar player Tom D'Amico, and bassist Lou Ciarlo). Sure enough, by 1989, Attacker was history, with various members launching a short-lived new band named Jersey Dogs. Sadly, Leone passed off in 1994, as did Mooney in the yr 2000; and unruffled, not one alone deuce dissociate versions of Attacker of a sudden surfaced in 2001 and began qualification the rounds at local clubs. Finally coalescent into ane, an official group featuring former members Mitchell, Marinelli, Benetados, and Sabatini, and unexampled bassist Felix Torres, finally recorded a comeback record album in 2004's Soul Taker.
